I phone 3gs

Hi sorry if post already covered before ,
But I have got new I phone 4 s and want to unlock the 3GS for wife
And orange is now had me waiting since 12/12/11( no good )
And apple say it's down to carrier as apple don't sell locked phones .
My local unlock , repair shop says it can't be done .
Help any 1 ??? I have also upgraded it to version 5.0.1 ...

I was with orange and it takes 10 days for them to send a code to unlock your phone. Ring orange ask for the unlock (costs £45 I think) then wait and then unlock. Simples!
