How to block text messages. (AT&T)

I don't know if this has been found out or not but, If you text "Stop" (Without quotations) then you will no longer receieve text messages from the user you sent it to. I have to admit that I haven't tested this with an actual phone. I use Yahoo to text and I don't have access to a phone at the moment. But, I assume it would work. I've also only tested this with an Iphone 3GS that uses AT&T. If others could test it, that would be cool.

Oh! And to unblock you need only to send that person a text message.

I know that works for business texts. My son's phone number had been put on Arby's texting list by the previous owner and texting stop to that number stopped the text messages from coming.

I had to block someone from sending hurtful texts, and I contacted AT&T and I had to pay $4.99 per month to block their number from my iphone 3gs. I had their number blocked for three months and then I cancelled the $4.99 fee and by that time there were no more texts.
