just ran absinthe, was about to jailbreak but it said that absinthe found iphone 3 but i have a iphone 4 sprint ios 5.1.1

That is Apple's internal designation for the iPhone 4 CDMA.

The iPhone 3,1 is the iPhone 4 GSM.

The iPhone 4,1 is the iPhone 4S GSM/CDMA.

Basically there are only 4 generations of iPhones so far.

But from the technical side, yes the software has reported you own an iPhone 4 with a CDMA radio and you have stated you have an iPhone 4 on Sprint which is a CDMA based cellular provider.
