Hi everyone,

I am about to reinstall iOS 4 on my 3Gs phone, and wanted to run the steps by everyone to see if I got everything right or if anything is missing. I've never done this before, so I did some research on the net. Here is what I think should happen:

1. Backup the apps and app configurations using iTunes.
2. Copy the backup file to another location...just in case...I'm paranoid like that. :)
3. Backup all photos/music/contacts/calendar using iTunes.
4. Reinstall iOS 4 using iTunes (should have the file downloaded already of course).
5. Restore all app/config and photos/music/etc. using iTunes.

Simple as that? Any thoughts? Thanks.

I'm with you there. Backup literally everything in your phone and you're good to go! Backup your contacts, notes and messages also if you want the complete package :p

Simple as that. Any passwords which are saved will have to be re-entered. This includes wifi, email, calendar, etc.

Shweeeet! Thanks for confirming this for me, it makes me feel at ease. Will let you guys know if I run into anything. And will add anything interesting here...just in case someone else runs into this thread in the future and could use the info.
