Does anyone have any idea on how to setup an excite email account on an iphone? It's just a standard account not gold. And any of the tutorials online don't help as far as I can find. Any advice?

Excite only offers POP3 access, what you need, thru the Gold accounts. That is the reason why none of the guides you are looking at work.

Just as an FYI, the service that is free is paid for by web ads that are shown when you access your mail. If you go to POP3, then you avoid those ads. Hence they have to charge for the access.

I went to the excite page to check out the upgrade and they are doing site maintenance and not offering upgrades at this time.
