My new iPhone 6 plus crashed while trying to update. Now it is stuck on the screen showing the iTunes logo and a 'zipper' like pic under it. I included a pic of the screen. I tried resetting but it keeps giving me the error message saying unable to restore. I did check and I do have the latest version of iTunes on my MacBook Air. Any suggestions?

Is your iPhone plugged into your computer with iTunes open?
That picture isn't a zipper. Try this.
iPhone stuck in Recovery Mode
If your iPhone appears in Recovery Mode you will simply see blank screen with a connect to iTunes graphic. When this happens you need to use iTunes on a Mac to restore the phone.
This Apple support document shows you how to use iTunes to restore a device in Recovery Mode. Note that the restore process wipes all information from your iPhone.

Yes, iTunes was open. I wasn't sure what to call that pic and could only think to describe as zipper like.

Thank you for your quick response. I changed the charging cord and after several attempts was finally able to fix the problem.
