Calling US firms from the UK ?

Hi informative minds ;-)

I lived for 13 years in the US. I relocated back to the UK to assist my aged parents. I still have business correspondence and investments with the US.
I have an Iphone 4 with Viber, and WhatsApp and wondered if US businesses utilize these apps for international correspondence ? I have WIFI.

I need to contact investment firm MFS and I no longer have the international calls on my providers package. I tried using their online email contact option but they never got back to me on a pressing matter.

Any idea's to avoid a huge phone bill.

If the businesses you need to keep in contact with use MacBooks or iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads, you could always use FaceTime. FaceTime over WiFi is free and will use no cellular data.
