Battery

I think I may have some battery issues I put phone on charge at 1am from being flat took off charge at 6.30am (100%) without even touching and no apps been open in background by 9.30am phone was down to 64% surly it should be better than this my iPad 3 can last for couple days and that's with constant use. Anybody else had it this bad I am booked in at the apple store next week to see what they say alongside my yellow gate issue.
