Apple Sign

Right everyone I need help my 3GS had to much software onit and i wanted to get rid of it all so i erased everything onit and then the phone should come back on but it hasnt the screen has came on but then its just the apple sign in the middle of the screen and has been for nearly 10 hours now does anybody know what I could do to fix this please thanks ???

Restore using DFU mode in iTunes, not the Reset to Factory Settings in the Settings.app

i am in the same situation. how exactly do you restore using dfu mode in itunes?

Plug your device into your PC. Hold both the power and home button for 10 seconds, then release the power/sleep button but keep on holding your home button for another 10-15 seconds. Your computer should now recognize a new hardware and iTunes will say you have a device plugged in in recovery mode. If your screen is now black, you're in DFU mode. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, you did it wrong.
