Update help

I need help in updating an iPhone 3G to the latest firmware. This is my old phone, which now belongs to my son. It was jailbroken, but I downgraded to iOS 4.1 by using tiny umbrella. Now when I try to update it further, the only update available on iTunes is 4.2. When trying to update to 4.2, I get the 3194 error.


Losing the jailbreak is not a concern, we just want to update to the newest iOS for this phone. Could someone tell me the best way to accomplish that? Any and all help will be appreciated.

That would be the latest version, just restore it using DFU mode. The 3G's firmware skips from 4.1 straight to 4.2.1.
