Unable to remove emails iPhone 5 iOS 9.2

last 2 days I've noticed I've got quite a few old emails plus I'm unable to remove emails anymore.

I've followed instructions OS going to Settings, notifications, mail then turning off Badge App Icon.

This didn't help.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Which email account is causing your problems, and do you use the built in Mail app?

Both my Tesco.net and Outlook.com address.

It actually seems resolved now after I repeated the "App" part I mentioned.

Happy new year.
Ok so it turns out it isn't resolved.
I always clear out my inbox and bin but I still find old emails in my bin.
N E ideas why and how to stop this?

Check your settings in both accounts online, if possible. There's nothing else that might help with the Outlook account, except for removing it completely and reinstalling it.
