Transferring texts from 4s to 6.. Help!

My shitty search skills have not found a solution. How do you transfer old text messages to a new phone without iTunes? My 4s wasn't upgrade to the new iOS if that makes a difference.

I originally set my phone up on my parents computer. Is that the only way to recover old message history?

It can be any PC or Mac just as long as it has iTunes. Just connect your old 4s and do a backup. If you choose to encrypt the backup it will include your passwords. Once the backup is complete, connect the new phone and use the newly created backup to restore the phone.
