Joining other cable networks, like HBO and Showtime, Starz on Tuesday launched a new video service on iOS to browse its library. For $8.99/month, subscribers can view Starz's library of over 2,400 TV shows and movies on iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and the fourth generation Apple TV.

The iOS companion app allows subscribers to download full movies and episodes of TV shows for offline viewing. However, for some reason the company only allows for downloads, meaning streaming is unavailable.

The Starz package is perfect for cord-cutters, which is gaining popularity amongst households every day. Starz's monthly fee is only $1 more than Netflix, which starts at $7.99/month, and cheaper than HBO NOW at $14.99/month and Showtime at $10.99/month.
