Speakers

Might sound daft but should your sound from the iPod on the iPhone 4 come through both speakers?? Only had it 2 month!!

The holes in the bottom of the phone one is a speaker the right one and the left one is a microphone. It's there for looks, do give the sound more "depth" noticed that on my G2x they stole the idea from apple.
