Shared photo stream / ID

Not sure what's wrong.

Invited my grandson to shared photo stream. Shows his name when I invite. But when he accepts it changes to show his mom's name.

I have checked his email address. It is correct, and when I send him email and he replies. It shows his name. But when he accepts photo stream and / or replies to a photo it shows his moms name.

What is wrong???

Is he using her AppleID? I don't use Photostream but I'm prepared to bet it shares between devices using an AppleID, not an email address.
