When you are out of cellular and wifi service areas, you can still keep in touch using satellite messaging. This works on all iPhones from 14 onwards. Since it works on multiple devices, I’ve posted it in the iOS area.
You can send text only using iMessage or text message. Your recipient may not be able to send a message back to you. No pictures and no group messages.
Start up is simple. Either go to messages when you have no service or go to settings and start looking for a satellite. You might have to chase the satellite. The images should make it clear.
