Running 10.3.1 Do I update ?

I am always scared of apple updates since I updated an Ipad 2 and it slowed it down to crap , If I update my 6s+ how will it effect my phone's performance and features ?

The latest is 12.2 No problems on either my pad or iPhone.

You may find it's a bit faster on iOS 12. iOS 12 is more of a housekeeping update designed to optimize performance rather than add many new features.

Update while they still release updates for your aging phone, because there will be a time in the near future where your phone will no longer support the iOS update and you’ll be forced to stay with a dated operating system.

Any iOS device can always be updated to the latest supported iOS release even after several years.

Yes, let me clarify. At some point in time he won't be able to go past iOS12. If that's the latest update supported by his iPhone. (as an example).

So while the rest of us are enjoying say iOS15, no mater what, you can't enjoy it without upgrading your hardware.

My 6S Plus is running great on iOS 12.2, certainly not slower and lots of updates too. Definitely worth it for me.
