Hi Experts,

I have a locked iphone 4S (AT&T), the iOS it is running on is 5.0.1. I would like to unlock the phone in future once the unlock is released by dev team and I have heard that they are asking people to stay on iOS 5.0.

My question is can i rollback to iOS 5.0 so i have a better chance of unlocking by iphone.

Please advise?

Thanks

I'm not 100% certain if Apple is still signing 5.0. If they are you'll have no problem downgrading to 5.0. However, the Unlock that's a future possibility w/ iOS 5.0 relies on the 1.0.11 Baseband. When upgrading to 5.0.1 your Baseband is also updated to 1.0.13 or 1.0.14 (depending on version). There is no way to downgrade your Baseband.. sorry. :-(

Thanks for your quick reply.

The only option is to wait for iOS 5.0.1 unlock for 4S.

At this point yes. In the future be on the lookout for an Unlock for Basebands 1.0.13 & 1.0.14, of course depending on which you're on. You can see which you're on by going into Settings>General>About and it's next to "Modem Firmware".
