Thanks for your help we tried the app before posting the question and it didn't work it the help video it said we had to drag the song ringtone we made from the library to the ringtone tab on iTunes but there is no ringtone tab on iTunes I tried to create a new playlist named ringtones but that didn't work either sorry I didn't see the other post or I would have just asked there i never had a iPhone before so all the other phones I used you would just go to your sound settings to change it but I can't seem to figure it out for a iPhone

There is no ringtone tab in iTunes until you drag a ring tone onto itunes.
iTunes works out that you now have a ringtone and creates a tab for you.

Thank you I will try that thanks for your help everyone

Once you get a ringtone into a folder just double click it. It goes right into iTunes.

But remember, you've got to change the file extension and then assign it to be associated with iTunes. Then click on it, which will import it into iTunes, at which point you can sync it with your iPhone.

What does this bit mean?

Right click on the file (in Windows) and select "open with..." Then choose iTunes, if displayed. Otherwise browse to iTunes. Check the box in the window to associate the filetype with iTunes.

I know how to do it. Have done it numerous times. Just didn't understand the term used
Oh now I see thanks Kevinjs. Never bothered with that just dragged and dropped and let iTunes sort it out
