Putting music on iCloud

I’m almost out of storage on my trusty 12. I have Apple Music subscription, so I’m downloading like a fool. Great. But I need to free up phone storage, I can’t even update operating system.

How do I upload my music to my cloud. ? Thx.

In Settings - Music, is there ”Sync Library” enabled on your iPhone?

yes, the Sync Library switch shows green so its flipped. Now, here's the $64 question, can I erase the music from my phone and just download off the cloud (when i want to listen) to save my phone storage? or is that a bad plan.

You can delete the previously downloaded tunes and then stream them - provided you don't want to play them where there's no internet. Alternatively, you could try turning turning on Optimise Storage under Music Settings.
