Polaroid Launches Polamatic iPhone Digital Effects App

A fantastic new app here from Polaroid for everyone who misses the days of taking instant Polaroid pictures. The app is called Polaroid Polamatic, and it’s a photo and video app that combines digital photo effects with frames in the format of the Polaroid Classic Border Logo. You can use the app to either shoot a new picture or use an existing one from your photo library, and add a Polaroid Classic Border frame, apply a filter, write a caption, and then share the retro-style photo. Among the 12 frame types that you can select are “tape,” “crumpled,” and “kinda new.” Unlike other photo editing apps, such as Instagram, the frames are not computer generated, rather they are high-quality scans of new, used, and vintage Polaroid Classic Border frames. Twelve photo effects are also available for customization, with names such as “chroma,” “gelatin” and “pyrophoric.” The various effects let you apply a number of colour and tone-adjusting effects to your pictures as well, such as sepia, or rosy. Additional frame formats and effects can also be purchased in packs. When taking a new picture, the app gives you the ability to control the flash, grid, front or rear camera, as well as using timer settings with just one button tap.
