Thanks guys, im running an tethered jailbroken iphone 4, ios 4.2.1 - done with redsn0w 0.9.6b4, will i be able to do the untethered jailbreak when it becomes available?

Of course you can. There will be an update of redsnow when the untethered jailbreak comes available. You may have to restore you phone in iTunes first before you can use it or it may just be a click or two in the new redsnow...
