OK, part of the problem resolved. I turned off her Gmail account on her phone last night and re-entered it through the steps of using Microsoft Exchange (instructions I found on the web). Anyway, when I deleted the Exchange account and re-entered Gmail the regular way, now all of her Notes and Calendar stuff is back on her phone. Now, if getting the contacts back on there was that easy
