my iphone 7+ will not upload photos either into Iphoto or "photos" on my mac?

As title. Can anyone help? Iphoto says "loading" but never loads. Photos does nothing.

iPhoto no longer works on the Mac. When you open Photos on your Mac did you click on Import Selected or Import All New Items at the top right of the Photos home page?

I recommend contacting Apple Support. If your phone is still under warranty, it shouldn’t cost anything. Or if you’re able, ask at your local Apple Store.

iPhoto has been replaced by the Photos app on the Mac. Any photos in iPhoto are automatically migrated to the Photos app.
The photos are saved in the Photos app on a Mac.

Why hasn’t Apple announced this? I investigated Drippler, TapSmart (Tips and Tricks), and iMore, and there is no information.
