The Dallas News reports today on the story of a local Dallas man,Vincent Hunter, who watched horrified on his iPhone as two burglars broke into his house when he was away visiting relatives all the way over in Connecticut. Hunter was alerted to the presence of the intruders in his house by a text sent to him via the iCam app, which was set to alert him if the motion detectors in his home picked up on any movement in the house, which was supposed to be completely empty. Hunter was then able to check the scene for himself by using the iCam app to link up with his webcams at home, then immediately call 911 and alert the local police at the same time as his security system.
"We could see it unfolding," Hunter told the newspaper when recalling how the dramatic events played out.
The two burglars were disturbed by the police arriving, so their burglary attempt was foiled, but unfortunately the police didn't manage to catch up with either of them when they fled, so they're still at large.
