I have an iPhone 4S and replaced the digitizer and somehow lost the grounding clip where the battery connector connects. Everything is working fine and I don't notice any problems. Would you guys replace it as long as everything is functioning? What problems may arise if I don't replace it? Thanks

What problems will I see with it missing?

Grounding clips are there to protect the circuitry. Apple doesn't add unnecessary parts to their devices. It would be best to replace it.

I created an account just to reply to the question.

I am still investigating it, but adding the grounding clip to an iPhone 4, seems to have improved battery life from 10hrs to projected 60hrs on a 100% charge. So I would say that in some cases, it has its role :)

Have you seen your battery life decrease without the clip ?

LE: 16hrs with 26% charge after putting the clip on.

The Battery Grounding Clip is integral to having optimal WiFi reception. Don't lose it, like I did. Hard to find replacement.
