Just brought a jailbroken 3gs

Hi All
Firstly i would like to say "Hi" im a newbie apple owner so please be gentle

i have just brought a 8gb 3gs off ebay for my wife but havent had it delivered yet, i've been told that the phone is jailbroken and factory unlocked, i have a few questions....

1.if its jailbroken then does this mean i cant upgrade to IO6?
2.Is there anyway to know if the phone has actually been factory unlocked?
3.if i want to un-jailbreak is this possible and what do i need to do?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions, just dont want to update it and end up having a brick!!

You can update a jailbroken 3GS to ios6 but you will have to restore as a new phone using iTunes and will lose your jailbreak. Also if it isn't factory unlocked and you do update it you will lose your unlock as it will be using the jailbreak for the unlocking
