Jailbreaking with 4.2.10

If I tether my iPhone what are the downsides of using tether. Are they coming out with an untethered version for 4.2.10?

The downside to a tethered JB is that everytime you have to reboot you're going to have to plug your phone into your pc. Otherwise it will mess your phone up. There is no word on a untethered jb
