IPhone really slow/not getting alerts

It seems that I am not getting alerts with texts or emails a lot lately. I need to unlock my phone and see the red alert for texts, I am not getting vibrations most of the time.

Also, when I try sending texts even iMessage it gets frozen sorta. I click send and it freezes until it goes through.

I dont know what else to do. My phone right now is locked, with service and I unlock it and there are 2 texts.

Any help?

Nope, bought the phone from Verizon. Worked fine until a few days ago.

No not really, was hoping not to but would need to back everything up first.

It could be related to the service, but Verizon or apple would just factory wipe it first anyway :-(.

I can back everything up and save it through Icloud right?
