iPhone 6S to Get an Updated Qualcomm LTE Chip With Faster LTE Speeds and Improved Energy Efficiency

Yesterday we shared with you some freshly leaked photos of what seems to be the iPhone 6S and now we've got new intel coming from the same publication. 9to5Mac claims that the next iPhone will feature an updated Qualcomm LTE chip offering faster LTE speeds and greater energy efficiency.

These details were extracted from some new photos which show the logic board of the upcoming device. Thus, the next iPhone is believed to feature a Qualcomm MDM9635M chip which offers a significant increase in performance over the current one used in the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

With this new chip, the next iPhone could reach download speeds of up to 300 Mbps, which is twice of what the current iPhone models can perform. The new Qualcomm chip is also more power efficient, which means the iPhone 6s could witness some improvements in its battery life, also thanks to a slimmer motherboard.
