Agree! As fast as WIFI sometimes!
Mine arrived yesterday. Did a few speed tests last night. I have Xfinity at home so it is pretty fast, I usually get 24Mbps down and 4 Mbps up on my wifi. Less if I am a long way from the router.
For comparison purposes, I have 3 bars of LTE at my house. I was getting speeds up to 30Mbps down and 6Mbps up with the lowest speed of 19Mbps down and 3 up which to me is unbelievably fast for a cell phone.
I am so glad I have LTE in my area. It would be frustrating having a phone that was capable of these kinds of speeds and still being on HSPA+. I thought HSPA+ was fast enough at about 6Mbps down and 2Mbps up most of the time but LTE is very impressive. To me the expanded rollout and the improved battery life means Apple were correct to wait until this year to release a LTE capable iPhone.

Mine is MUCH faster on LTE at my house when compared to my wireless. I guess I have pretty slow wireless! Does it matter if I use LTE as far as data usage, etc rather than my wifi? Am I right that wifi is needed for wireless syncing on icloud and itunes, but other than that there is no reason I shouldn't use the faster LTE for most things? Is the data usage on LTE the same as it would be on wireless or is that different because LTE is cellular? I don't know much about this as you can probably tell so any help is appreciated. I don't want to get to much data and be surprised at bill time. Thanks
Lets lay out one ground rule so we have an apple to apple comparison for the conversation.
If I open the web browser on the iPhone and go to CNN.com - Breaking News, U.S., World, Weather, Entertainment & Video News, I will use exactly the same amount of data whether I am on LTE, 3G or WiFi. Nothing changes because of the carrier frequency. So with that in mind, lets look at the bigger picture.
When you are using LTE or 3G to surf the web, that data counts account your data allotment on the cellular plan. When you are on WiFi it does not. So that means if you are on a 2GB cellular data plan, you want to avoid using LTE/3G to do your backups. While it may be faster than your WiFi connection, you are constantly eating into your data plan and the overage charges tend to be very steep (about $15 per gig). No of course if you are on a legacy data plan that is unlimited, then this whole conversation is moot. You are protected, to a point, from overage charges. But eventually they will cap your data speed until you quit using so much data.

Depending on your Wifi speed. I would place the average house hold at 6Mbps down. LTE is easily double that in most places.

Wow, that's fast. The most I've got is 38Mbps down.

I use wifi at home always and cellular data away from home and put wifi on at all hotspot

iPhone 5 for developers, who are professional in mobile app development will be digesting the potential of the device's new A6 processor, which is twice as fast as than the A5.
First off, your statement has some very serious inaccuracies.
1) The A6 is not twice as fast as the A5. The A5 was UNDER CLOCKED from the day it was designed to avoid battery drain issues. The A6 is using a variable speed clocking system to help avoid battery drain. And only under certain conditions does it up clock to its fastest potential.
2) You can't compare the A6 to the A5 directly since the A6 uses 3 GPUs vs the A5's 2 GPUs. Combine that with the fact that the A6 is a full step revision higher on those GPUs, even if you clocked them at the same speed the A6 will be faster than the A5 because of the ability to do more parallel work at the same time.
3) Professional is defined as someone that has made any money doing a specific task. As such, about 99% of all iOS app developers are professional. So your first assertion is beyond rhetorical.
Oh, BTW, I am a professional software developer. And there is nothing to digest. Us pros were simply given the ability to shoe horn in more AI and 3D data calculations between screen refreshes. This is something we have become accustomed to dealing with for the last 40 years or so after every new device comes out.
