How to wifi your phone

i have a stupid ? do i need to tell at&t about mifi. you know about tethering thing or keep it under my hat. all i have is 2gigs plan and the cost of mifi is $20.00 bucks????

After paying the 19.99 are there any other additional monthly charges? I have the IPhone 2g phone. Also can I use the MYWI hotspot on this phone and not use a service like AT&T or Verizon. Also if I purchase another IPhone and want to puttee MYWY on the phone will I have to pay the additional 19.95?
