How to : Music files from PC to iPhone?

HI. New on here.

I am on a PAYG sim from 02. My android has recently died & I have been loaned an iPhone X.

(i) How do I transfer music files from my laptop to the X?
(ii) Once the files are stored in the X can I create a playlist and let the phone work through it?
(iii) What music app is the best one to use?

As stated, I'm on PAYG so streaming from iTunes is not an option whenever I'm out of range of a wifi environment.

I hope someone can offer advice. All of the options I've explored seem to either involve using iTunes or purchasing a transfer app.

The option I use to transfer music from my Laptop or MacBook to my iPhone or iPad unfortunately involves paying for a program for the PC/Mac Called ‘iMazing’.
However I think it’s well worth it as it’s such a powerful program it’s well worth paying for. It allows you to copy and transfer all sorts of things (in either direction) as well as perform backups of the phone and ipad.
