How to link 4s to iTunes

My version of iTunes is 12.9.1.4 is dosen't see my 4s when I plug it in to my PC computer. To start with I want to backup 4s to iCloud and then later restore iOS 6.1.3.

When I go to Files/Devices it won't let me do anythig in fact all most everything I can't do anything. If someone can a step by step on how to do it that will be great.

To backup your iPhone to iCloud, you don‘t have to connect it to iTunes. Just make sure it‘s connected to Wi-Fi. In Settings, go to iCloud - Backup - Backup Now.

Here is what I found out.

Device driver not successfully installed.

Iphone has a Red X Device unplugged.
Apple Mobile Device USB Driver has a green check mark and Ready to use.

The device is plug in to the PC. What is wrong?

Guest I will just use my iPhone and not iTunes.
