How to kill active Map route?

When I use Map to navigate a driving route, there is no obvious way to kill the last route. I often use Map without a route defined, and it is annoying that I can't seem to kill the route. You would think when you get to the end of the route, tapping on "End" would end it, but it does not. Any ideas?

Try clearing the destination field.

Thanks. That's the first thing I tried, and it didn't work. It expects you to have a starting location and destination, but you can't just clear the fields and then go back to the map.
