Help with ringtone plz

I searched the forum and found the directions on how to convert an mp3 to a m4a file. I have tried it but I do not get the option in itunes when I right click to "Create AAC file"
Can you tell me why I wouldn't be seeing it. I have the latest download for itunes so its all up to date

Go to Preferences, and for Import CD Media, change the format to AAC. Now when you right-click a sound file, it should give you the option to Convert to AAC.
