Help regarding baseband downgrade.

Hey guys, so I currently have the 3gs on 5.0.1 and has the baseband 6.15.00 which as most of you know breaks the GPS and causes random loss of service at times. I was thinking of dowgrading the baseband via redsn0w 0.9.14 b2. My device is already jailbroken and I have a general idea on how to do it. My question though is if I JUST downgrade the baseband with the same .ipsw file i.e 5.0.1 will that turn push notifications off and will it delete any data on the iphone? My iphone is also unlocked will this process lock it making me use ultrasn0w again?

Downgrading the iPad baseband doesn't effect anything but the baseband.
