hello all .. i joined this forum today. I live in the US. I am planning to buy an iphone from Apple.ca webiste and get it shipped to my friend's house. He is coming to the US and will bring it. Would there be any issue once he enters US (flight) with respect to taxes/duties etc?

Get him to open or take it out of the box. Then it isn't new anymore so it shouldn't get flagged for tax.
