GPS in Europe Question

I searched my question but I couldnt find exactly what i was wondering so here goes:

I am stationed in germany and I have an Iphone 4 with Deutsche Telekom. I have TomTom installed on my phone. If I go outside Germany, like to Italy for example, will I be able to use TomTom on its own, and not be charged for data through Telekom? Does the GPS work through 3G?

Hi

Gps is a receive only device straight from the sky no 3G needed, you can test the to prove it to your self and turn the wifi and phone off
