FTP Issues

I'm using fileexplorer to hook to the ftp server. I can connect to the ftp server when I'm on wifi, but when I switch to data I get "could not resolve host" errors. Thoughts?

Probably because it has to use the same network?

No, this is a remote FTP server. I can use my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge without any issues.

I can use the same sim card in my Samsung device and not have any issues.

Are you using the same Fileexplorer you use on Android or did you download the IOS app for use on your iPhone?
