Facebook Messenger launches new video call features.JPG

iDownload Blog reports that Facebook has unveiled some cool new video chat features for the Messenger app.

The new video chat features include animated reactions, interactive filters, masks and effects.

You can use the new features in one-on-one video calls as well as in group video conversations. You can use one of the five Facebook reactions during a video call, change your appearance via filters, to name but two of the new fun features. The new in-call filters include simple lighting tweaks and colour changes. All filters have a live preview that you can test prior to using it on your friends.

“We have also added animated effects, like falling hearts and twinkling stars, to give your video chats expressive flair. Check out what happens when you wave your arm in front of the camera while using one of those effects! Unlike reactions, masks and effects stay on the screen for the duration of the video chat (or until you take them off or switch to another one),” said Facebook in a blog post.

Another new feature is screenshotting, whereby you can tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen to take a screenshot during a video call that you can then share via Messenger Day or elsewhere, as well as being saved to your camera roll.
