MacStories features a really gorgeous dictionary app today called Discourse, designed by Mathieu White and developed by Emilio Palaez, which boasts a beautiful book-like interface and really easy-on-the-eye typography. All you need to do to look up a word is to start typing. Discourse will then list results based on the text that youve just typed in. If you see a result you like, press it and the book will slide to reveal the words definition, an example of usage, and related words. To return to the search screen, simply slide the book to the right. The app also has a really nice bookmark facility, where you can tap the bookmark icon to place a ribbon and bookmark a word that youve looked up. Your last few word searches will always be saved in the search history, so you wont have to look them up again, and if you feel like finding out the meaning of a random word just for fun, give your iPhone a shake and Discourse will present you with one!
Click here to download the app for $0.99/£0.59: Discourse for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store
