Hello everybody!

I'm curious if you check the brand behind a TLS (SSL) cert when you surf HTTPS sites? By "brand" I mean a CA (Certification Authority) that issued the certificate. Like Symantec (formerly Verisign), Thawte, GlobalSign etc. To make my question more specific, I'm NOT asking about online banking (HSBC, CitiBank, Deutsche Bank etc.). I'm asking about the situation when you surf regular sites. Let's say, you want to sign for a free trial and you have to provide your credit card details. Or you have to provide certain ID info (like where you live, your name etc.) Again, the question is not whether the certificate is important for you, but about its type (brand).

The reason why I'm asking is because I'm a web site owner and I wonder if it's worth buying a more expensive TLS (SSL) cert or it wouldn't really matter for my site's visitors.
