Can you use an iphone with a PC?

My mac charger needs to be replaced. Until then,can you hook an iPhone up to a PC?

Ok. Got it. Any idea how to get iTunes to recognize the phone?

As long as iTunes is installed, and you plug your phone in, it'll install a driver for your device and it'll be recognized. As for data management like music, you'll need to authorize your computer to do so in Store > Authorize this PC at the top of iTunes

I think I need to update iTunes (using an older version as I haven't used it on this pc in a while). But otherwise it isn't showing up.

Give the update a go. But as long as it's iTunes 11, meaning 11.X.X.X where X is some number, you shouldn't have a problem. If not, try a different USB port and/or cable.
