AppleInsider reports today on a new rumour on TechnoBuffalo, which says that according to trusted sources, Sprint subsidiary Boost Mobile will be offering the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S on a pre-paid basis from this September. Unfortunately the source was not able to say if Boost Mobile would be offering the iPhone on its $50 Monthly Unlimited Plan with Shrinkage. A Boost Mobile spokesperson declined to comment when queried by AppleInsider on the matter. AppleInsider notes that if this rumour is in fact correct, it will be the second carrier to announce selling the iPhone on a pre-paid basis, with Cricket Wireless being the first to announce yesterday. As AppleInsider points out, this looks like being another way in which Apple intends to take on Android, as up until this point, except for the BlackBerry Curve, the only phones carried by Boost Mobile have been Android phones.
