If your jailbroken then use the cydia app pop up blocker. If your running stock iOS then there isn't anything you can do.

Wait for ios 5 as this will change the notifications on your iphone 4.

Thanks for the replies. I updated my iphone to 4.3.5 - really bad move for jailbreak... I'll wait for the version that can break it.
Do you know when IOS 5 will come out ?
