Blank text message

Recently I've been getting blank texts. One was from my daughter and the other from my son. Both said they never text me.
When the 2nd one came in I noticed that it came the exact time I got a text (alert) from my local news station. And that's what happened with the 1st one too.
Had anyone ever heard of such a thing?

No I am not. I read something about shutting the alerts off if an app is connected to it, maybe that will help. Who knows.
