Battery indicator on iPod touch

Hi
I understand on a IPhone you can turn the battery indicator on by going in to usage, however on my iPod touch (which has OS5) the usage menu is completely different and shows usage for different apps and appears to have nothing to do with battery.
Is there any way to turn on this indicator on on a iPod ?
