According to CNET's DeepTech blog, Apple has today relaxed its ban on Flash-based apps. The controversial ban was introduced four-and-a-half months ago via a change in Apple's licensing rules, but now Apple has issued a statement to the effect that the ban is no more. Here's a choice quote from said statement:
"We are continually trying to make the App Store even better. We have listened to our developers and taken much of their feedback to heart. Based on their input, today we are making some important changes to our iOS Developer Program license in sections 3.3.1, 3.3.2 and 3.3.9 to relax some restrictions we put in place earlier this year."
The statement also revealed that Apple is to publish the App Store Review Guidelines for the first time to help developers understand how it reviews submitted apps. The statement concluded with a slightly immodest, albeit probably true, self-congratulatory flourish:
"The App Store is perhaps the most important milestone in the history of mobile software. Working together with our developers, we will continue to surprise and delight our users with innovative mobile apps."
Adobe promptly issued its own statement in response to the news, saying "we are encouraged to see Apple lifting its restrictions on its licensing terms." Adobe's shares also rose as a result of the statement, so it was good times all round today!

To me this just shows Apple doesn't "hate" flash... Just wants the best user experience. So here they see some advantages... They are going to use them! If it truly was Steves battle against flash certainly all flash would remain banned......
