Apple Increases its Lead as the Most Popular Smartphone Maker in the U.S

According to a fresh report coming from ComScore, Apple has slightly increased its lead as the most popular smartphone maker in the U.S. during the March quarter. Apple's quarterly average market share grew from 41.6 percent in the December quarter to 42.6 percent in the first quarter of 2015, says comScore.

The same report pointed out that Samsung fell from 29.7 percent to 28.3 percent, while Motorola dipped from 5.2 percent to 5. The report found out that LG and HTC have also seen their shares increase, the former experiencing a rise from 8 percent to 8.4 percent, while HTC increased its share only by a tenth of a point to 3.8 percent.

When it comes to operating systems, Android maintained its US dominance in the March quarter with a 52.4 percent share. Apple is on the second place with a identical 42.6% share, followed by BlackBerry, Windows Phone, and Symbian combined, which represent only 5 percent.
